Q. What if I'm just related to a famous namesake?
A. OK. Register their name for our database, but on the profile put your name as the contact or spokesperson.
Q. What if I don't see my famous namesake here?
A. Register it now, then do your own profile.
Q. What if a company wants to use my famous name for an endorsement?
A. It might happen. You’re on your own. We’re not involved. Get a lawyer.
Q. What if I'm a marketer and I want to rent some namesakes for a promotion?
A. Don't even think about making any visual photo link between these real people and a celebrity who happens to have the same name. By all means, make endorsement and testimonial deals with our namesakes, but always treat them fairly and respect their "fair use" rights. We're sure you can think of funny eye-catching ideas, but here are some set ups we enjoyed that you might want to adapt to your business.
Q. Why do some celebs do endorsements and others don't?
A. Some feel that doing testimonials weakens their appeal as professionals. Some only do endorsements overseas (like Bill Murray in Lost in Translation).
Q. Can I add to/edit the profiles of the actual celebrities?
A. Yes. Go to the Celebrity Profiles page. It's our Celeb-O-Wiki. Be accurate, we're not responsible for any errors or omissions.
Q. Do the celebrities and their namesakes on this site have to be in the USA?
A. No. Anywhere in the world is OK.
Q. Do I pay for any of the activities that you have in mind?
A. No. For the moment everything on this site is free.
Q. How can I help promote the website?
A. Email one of these press releases to your favorite media.
